So what’s news?…

Well we just got back from doing a gig up in Leinster, a fundraiser for The Royal Flying Doctor Service with our soundman G.J. Snook. Snooky has just played bass on a e.p. by his band Catharsy titled ‘Apertures’ http://www.carthasy.com/ be sure to check them out !!

After getting the re-master of the upcoming album ‘Race Against Time’ back in our hands around June, and ready for getting it to print, our graphic designer was..M.I.A…only for a little while. After searching high and low (which included at one stage finding out he was in the bowels of France in early September) I finally got the artwork files back in my hands as he prepared to run the more noble pursuit of the New York Marathon. 

 An old friend, but a new companion for me in the graphic art world, Brady Knight is finishing/polishing the very last remaining parts of the artwork for the physical copies of the album. Hopefully those who buy a physical copy will appreciate the way the package has been put together as a piece of art, not just a collection of plastic and paper that frames a compact disc. At least one last time before all this talk of ”the album format dying” going to everyone’s small heads

We are still very active writing new material, jamming and can’t wait to finally put this album out for the world to hear.

We also will announce some gigs soon to get our fingers wet again and awake the beast from it’s slumber. Next year will almost be 10 years since this idea for this band was born, so maybe we will do something special for that.

After our initial mastering we decided that a few tracks on the disc needed a little extra polish and in the process have been caught up in our mastering engineers move of studio’s, but nevertheless it is nearly finito. The artwork is 95% done so we should be looking at penning a release date/single launch etc very soon. Obviously without exact confirmation of when our new record will be in our hot little hands it would be unwise to set dates and potentially have a catastrophic ‘race against time’ (puns….) on our hands, but never fear we will start moving the machine once again. We have been rehearsing the old stuff as well as writing weekly and ‘fruitful’ could be one word to explain things. Tony Bourke has been in the room with us and will be providing the keyboard parts he recorded on the album live as well as adding some guitar parts. Tony has been playing with us on/off for years in various projects and he is a master on the keys. He has also added some new perspectives and sounds to our back catalogue, so the next time you hear some of the older tracks they will come with a fresh new sound to them. It’s been really exciting playing with Tony so lookout.

The new record is called Race Against Time and we will be announcing it’s release as well as a first single very shortly!!
